I am currently recruiting for a Product Manager, to work on a full time, permanent basis with a leading Electronic component manufacturer based in Preston.


The purpose of the role is to;

  • To manage and develop a market leading portfolio of products and suppliers
  • To effectively market new and existing products
  • You will be working closely with the Business Development Manager for Maker and Education, to develop customer and to expand the company's presence within those markets.

Your main accountabilities will be:

  • To manage a portfolio of products with a value of up to £7m and be responsible for up to 10,000 product lines
  • Sales and margin responsibility for a portfolio of products
  • Identification of new opportunities and the development of initiatives around product types
  • Direct mail and marketing initiative support: product selections, pricing and layout
  • Develop and support the e-commerce channel
  • Product lifecycle management: cost price negotiation, introduction, setting and maintaining sell prices, support the removal of SLOB stock and replacement product links
  • Negotiation of cost prices and setting and maintaining sell prices in line with margin expectations
  • Develop and identify Private label products sourced from the Far East
  • Pricing from market research, benchmarking and margin expectations
  • Develop relationships with key strategic suppliers and identify new suppliers
  • New supplier identification and approval in line with the expectations of the Business as a whole inc T&C’s negotiation, sales targets, supply chain maximisation, retro discounts, payment terms etc 
  • Sales and Marketing planning and support 
  • Competitor and market research
  • Third level Technical support
  • Attend and support CPC’s presence at Maker Fairs and other shows and events


What Skills do I Need?

  • Electronics knowledge
  • Experience within a commercial environment
  • Good communication skills
  • Proven ability to get results, within a similar role.
