IT/EMV Project Manager


The successful candidate will be joining an established team in one of the most crucial times of the year. The client is a world leader in the printed plastic card manufacturing industry. This forward thinking company is preparing for targeted revenue growth within the banking/financial and retail card markets and therefore requires an experienced Project Manager to lead key IT projects in our Banking Division.


You will be reporting directly to the Operations Manager and Commercial Director. In this role you will be responsible for managing a number of concurrent EMV projects delivering business improvement and supporting the business change programme and client integration over to our Data Processing System. As a Project Manager you will be expected to own the projects from inception through to closure.


The Job:


Schedule workloads and motivate our team of EMV Technicians and Developers. Plan and monitor the projects and lifecycle progression; Produce the initiation documents and monitor project risks; Produce regular reports for the appointed project boards; Monitor that resources required for successful delivery of the project are available; Own all project issues and take necessary corrective action; Be responsible for change control and configuration management. Attend conference calls with clients and be heavily involved in the on-boarding of new clients. Update the team on all actions/minutes from conference calls and allocate workloads accordingly. 


The Person:


Ability to plan and coordinate within a complex environment; Demonstrate a structured approach to the management of issues and risks; Good analytical skills and common sense; Leadership qualities and the ability to establish and sustain momentum surrounding critical timelines; Ability to complete a number of tasks simultaneously with attention to detail and quality; Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including negotiation skills.




The ideal candidate will have:


A strong background in ITdevelopment is crucial Experience of working in a secure IT environment, ie, banking. A strong communicator at all levels with the ability to steer customer facing, project related meetings so will require the candidate to have previously managed internal and external projects. EMV experience is highly advantageous Project management qualifications essential Knowledge of project management methodologies such as Prince2, Waterfall, Scrum, Agile, etc
